The Wildfire Prevention Tax Credit (WPTC) is a proposed federal tax credit designed to help finance verified wildfire treatment. Credit value can be committed to treatment phases in advance, giving state agencies, tribes, utilities, and conservation organizations a commitment they can finance against before the work is complete. By pairing federal tax-credit support with private capital, WPTCs can help carry multi-year treatments through completion.
